Vilhelm Moberg

Vilhelm Moberg, a renowned Swedish author from Ljudersocken, captured the essence of Swedish life in his epic novels about emigrants journeying to America. His vivid storytelling and deep connection to the region bring the history and landscape to life. At Sveagård, located in the heart of Moberg's beloved Småland, you can experience the same natural beauty and cultural heritage that inspired his timeless works.

Korpamoen Once part of Bondeskog Manor, Korpamoen was a smallholding where Vilhelm Moberg and his father stayed during hikes to Åkerby for his father's soldier's pay. Moberg fell in love with the place, finding its wretched poverty the perfect setting for Karl-Oskar and Kristina in "The Emigrants."
